- The starting point for this painting came from a very small cropped photo of vineyard rows climbing a slope, which created a lovely pattern. My intention for this piece was to use a loose and impressionistic painting style, something I rarely do. I managed to hold to this plan in doing the foreground, but reverted to my usual controlled technique in painting the background. I think it works.
