- This poster is a celebration of the many things that make Green County, Wisconsin such a special place, not the least of which being the lush and rolling farm fields punctuated by iconic red and white barns that symbolize the traditional family farm. The cowbell, alphorn, milk can, and cheeses are in recognition of the Swiss traditions that are at the heart of the county’s dairy and cheese industries. Some of the landmark buildings of Monroe represented here include Turner Hall, the Court House, Baumgartner’s Cheese Store, the Historic Cheesemaking Center, and Chalet Cheese Factory, along with a tiny village of New Glarus, New Glarus Brewery, and the State Capitol in Madison.
