- This is a view of my parents’ farm where I grew up. The barn was built, most likely, in the 1930s, replacing an earlier structure.It has a Dutch gambrel roof and stanchions for forty cows. The house and chicken coop are to the left of the stave silo. Bee Balm is a common wildflower found along the roads in southern Wisconsin.
